Ice Storms

Another round of power outages smacked the Midwest several weeks ago. Louisville, Kentucky, our base of operations, was hit with it's second largest power outage in history, second to the remnants of Hurricane Ike in the fall of 2008.

Fortunately we had a substantial inventory of generators in stock. Unfortunately our dealers in Kentucky and other neighboring states worked through the inventory completely in 2 days. We were still in the process of rebuilding inventory from the fall weather events. We will now push even harder to get prepared whatever else comes down the pike.

It is always gratifying to be able to help people in their time of need. I am especially proud of the Sycamore staff for working very hard and, in some cases, ignoring their own personal struggles with the outages to help as many people as possible.

-DGP
